Self-Care and Wellness - The joy of having time for yourself!

Updated: Jan 31

Do you remember when you had to share a bathroom with your family members, and your bath time was limited to a few minutes? I certainly do! It was always a race against time to finish bathing before someone else needed to use the bathroom.

But now that I have my place, I can indulge in a luxurious bath for as long as possible. I take my skincare routine seriously - It's my time to unwind and relax, and I pamper myself with a long, hot soak in the tub.

While soaking in the tub, I pile my hair up and treat it to a generous amount of hair conditioner, like Henna wax. After bathing, I apply fragrant body lotion to pamper my skin, and if I'm having an at-home spa day, I set aside at least a few hours for it.

So why not treat yourself to a bit of self-care and indulge in a long, luxurious bath? You deserve it!

Self Care and Wellness

I start my self-care day with a gentle facial cleanse and exfoliation using our Green Tea facial cleansing mask, which is full of beneficial Dead Sea Mineral Mud. Then, a short session of dry body brushing while filling the bath with oils or a lovely bath soak. The steam from the bath helps to condition my hair deeply.

For those who enjoy the healing benefits of essential oils or love a bathroom that smells genuinely amazing, try using some in a diffuser or add a few drops to your bath.

There are many fantastic blends: relaxing Lavender & Lemongrass, Rose Geranium or spicy Cinnamon and Orange.

Lie back and relax with our aromatherapy mineral-rich salts combined with essential oils that are perfect for long, hot soaks, give your skin a deep clean, ease muscle aches, and leave you feeling refreshed.

Depending on my mood, I prefer a specific essential oil and use it to create the ultimate at-home spa experience.

Music is just as essential, and I plug into whatever I fancy, so I feel calm.

I don't know about you, but I love pure essential oils in candles. Lighting a candle or two when you take a soak in the tub is the ultimate in unwinding. I never use beeswax candles as they create air pollution and soot. Candles are incredibly calming and cosy; they instantly change the ambience of a room and make me feel warm and comfortable.

Our Live Well candle collection is carefully curated using eco-friendly soy and gentle fragrance oils.

And plants! I've not always had much success with houseplants because my feline companions like to chew them or knock them off the window ledge. My houseplants happily share shelf space with my beauty products and have added a lovely green jungle vibe to the bathroom. They benefit from all that steam when I'm taking a long soak!
