Love the skin you're in with Shea Butter & Marula Oil

Body Care

As skincare routines appear to have become more complicated and with so much advice from different brands, it's worth mentioning that looking after your skin can be easier when you don't have to use 6 or 7 different products. Although we promote natural skin-friendly soap, two other products are perfect for moisturising dry-mature skin and are from wholly-natural ingredients.

Whipped Shea Butter

Our whipped Shea butter contains vitamins and essential fatty acids, making it an excellent choice for a skin moisturiser; it improves the skin's elasticity and rejuvenates collagen. Shea butter is excellent at helping to reduce the appearance of stretch marks, wrinkles and sun damage while promoting brighter and healthy skin.

If you suffer from dry skin, use a rich body moisturiser daily, especially after a shower or bath. Our Shea butter can deeply hydrate the skin and is more effective if you apply it straight after your shower and while your skin is damp.

What's the difference between hydrating body moisturisers and richly nourishing body creams and moisturisers?

The main difference between the two is their composition. Nourishing moisturisers are generally richer in ingredients and formulated with cold-pressed oils, seed and kernel butter and plant extracts.

Hydrating moisturisers are usually lighter and thinner in consistency and contain ingredients like aloe vera or hyaluronic acid.

Shea butter benefits

If you shop for a moisturiser for the body or face, you've likely heard of Shea Butter. However, this is a great natural product which benefits dehydrated and sensitive skin and is ideal for all-over body use.

Here are the benefits of regularly using Shea butter:

  • It boosts skin moisture, and its anti-inflammatory properties soothe skin problems.

  • It gently helps heal minor cuts and scrapes.

  • It's a wholly-natural product and protects the skin

  • Antioxidants may mean anti-ageing properties.

  • It improves skin elasticity.

Shea butter versus Cocoa butter

Shea and Cocoa butter is excellent as skin moisturisers and emollients that prevent water from evaporating from your skin. However, Shea contains more fatty acids and vitamins E and A.

Vitamin A and E not only soothe your skin but make it look younger and healthier. Shea butter can promote cell regeneration and helps decrease fine lines and wrinkles. Its collagen-boosting properties provide you with plump-looking skin—excerpt from www.healthshots.com.

What is Shea butter?

Shea butter is a plant-based fat from the fruit of a tree native to sub-Saharan Africa, known by its Latin name, Butyrospermum parkii. Its usage in food and cosmetics has been widespread in Africa since the dawn of time, mainly in the Ivory Coast, a prominent producer of this prized ingredient.

Shea Butter is rich in antioxidants, including vitamins A and E. As it's a naturally sourced substance with no health risks, it packs a punch as a deeply hydrating moisturiser for mature skin.

Using Shea Body butter regularly will help skin retain moisture, which leaves your skin soft and supple.

Face Care

Can you apply Shea Butter to your face?

You can safely apply Shea butter to your face, lips and body. Many personal care products, including hair conditioners, also contain Shea butter for their excellent moisturising effects.

Due to its thick and oily consistency, applying it to acne-prone skin is not advisable.

Raw Shea butter is creamy or yellow; although thick and luxurious, refined Shea is white and more accessible to apply than plain Shea.

Marula Facial Oil

Where does it come from?

It is extracted from the fruit kernels of the Marula tree and is unique due to its super-rich content of fatty acids known to soothe and moisturise the skin naturally.

The marula fruit tree (Sclerocarya birrea) is native to parts of southern Africa. The trees grew wild and were once rare but are now cultivated.

Many parts of the marula tree are used in food and traditional medicine throughout Africa. Each marula fruit contains a hard, brown nut with pliable, white kernels at its core.

Marula oil is primarily extracted from these kernels but can also be obtained from the nut's outer husk. Marula oil is rich in protein and easily absorbed, making it an effective skin and hair treatment—excerpt from www.healthline.com.

This premium oil is light yet profoundly hydrating, making it perfect for dry skin sufferers, and it is rich in Vitamins E and C, which are known to help protect the skin from harmful solar rays.

Marula oil balances the effects of dryness, ageing, and the look of wrinkled skin and boosts strength. Mature skin can appear fragile - Marula oil increases skin suppleness.

Our lightweight oil and all ingredients are lab-tested and ethically sourced.
